Welcome to Dream Village!

Dream Village educates children about important social, economic, and environmental issues by combining illustrated children’s picture books with a fun and interactive web portal. Best of all, the children choose how and where Dream Village makes its charitable donations. With Dream Village, children learn, interact, and then affect real-life positive change.

Dream Village starts with a high quality, illustrated children's picture book that relates a true story about children from around the world who have overcome difficult environmental, economic, or social challenges. For example, the first book features the nonprofit organization "PlayPumps International", which installs "merry-go-rounds" in villages that lack a dependable source of clean, fresh water. These "merry-go-rounds" double as water pumps, so when children play, water is pumped into a storage tank for future use. Our story tells how the children in Spontania, a small village in Mozambique, were able to transform the village after the installation of the PlayPump.

These stories raise awareness/empathy for less-privileged people around the world, and encourage proactive efforts to make the world a better place. Dream Village raises money for innovative charitable organizations by donating a substantial portion of its profits to innovative nonprofit organizations. By placing the decision for which organizations get this money in the hands of our readers, we enable these children to experience the fulfillment that comes from making a difference. Note: At the ouset, Dream Village is focused on children Ages 6-10.

The Dream Village Difference

The Dream Village difference is bringing all of these elements together to provide a comprehensive experience for our audience:

  1. First, our readers learn about a particular issue and who is affected by that issue through our picture books;
  2. Then, our readers connect deeply with that issue and learn more about its impacts through our interactive web portal (which features videos, games, and supplemental information); and
  3. Finally, our readers tell Dream Village where and how to donate its profits to support the people affected by that issue.

There is no product on the market that currently provides such a comprehensive experience for children.
